Well to be fair, one of them didn't have a whole lot of time while the others normal irrationality was amplified due to the hatred of a certain shadow demon possessing her sister.

Also, what exactly would murder accomplish here? It's not like that thing needs its hosts in order to survive so if he kills the sisters, he's right back where he started with an enraged brother that would soon be possessed.

(And what exactly happened to the kunoi- I mean the fish-queen usurper? Don't think she was among the figures that were crushed some pages back.)

Actually... @Shadow Scryer: A few pages ago his brother mentioned that he had been beating the shadow god for five minutes. That was five minutes they should have been fleeing from an ancient god and, more importantly, a Steve willing to try anything to kill it.

To be fair the reaper of death said he was going to go to the place and slaughter EVERYONE THERE!

If they were good thieves they would have waited outside and let our reaper do his job AND THEN try to loot the place.

At least most of the villains would have been killed saving us a lot of time and avoiding this mess.

They DID get captured which slowed Steve's slaughter everyone time table. They DIDN'T run when Steve freed them.
They DIDN'T flee when giant crystal that was sealing an ancient god of EVIL MADNESS was broken.

Is there anything else missing?

(Grant it Steve had a hard time killing it, but like most things. The more time you spend around death the more likely it is that you will die.)

death may not be the only answer, but it is an answer that does work for Steve
